British teen crashes go-kart and dies in JB

JOHOR BARU: A British teenager crashed the go-kart she was driving and later succumbed to her injuries here on Thursday (June 6).

Iskandar Puteri OCPD Asst Comm Dzulkhairi Mukhtar said the police received a report about the incident at an extreme sports centre in Iskandar Puteri here at 11.38pm on Thursday.

He added that the victim, Chloe Josephine, 18, sustained serious injuries in the crash.

She died later while receiving treatment at a nearby hospital.

"According to an eyewitness, the victim was bleeding badly from her nose and she was rushed to a private hospital by friends.

"She later died at the hospital due to post-trauma," he said in a statement on Friday (June 7).

He added that body of the victim has been sent to the Kulai Hospital for a post-mortem and that the case has been classified as sudden death.

ACP Dzulkhairi also said that there was no footage of the incident as CCTVs at the extreme sports centre were not working.
