Thousands, including Johor ruler, flock to state MB's open house

JOHOR BARU: Thousands of people have flocked Johor Mentri Besar, Datuk Dr Sahruddin Jamal's open house at his official residence in Saujana here on the first day of Hari Raya Aidilfitri.

People were seen arriving at the open house since about 9am, with some donning their best Hari Raya garb.

Guests were treated to an array of traditional Malay dishes, including signature Raya delicacies such as rendang, ketupat and the famous Laksa Johor.

Dr Sahruddin also took some time greeting guests who came to his open house here.

Also dropping in was Johor Ruler Sultan Ibrahim Almarhum Sultan Iskandar, who arrived at about 10.15am and was greeted by the Mentri Besar, as well as state executive councillors.
