Missing teen found drowned in Marudi River

MIRI: A 16-year-old student in Marudi town, who went missing after falling into a river on Tuesday (May 28), was found drowned Thursday (May 30) morning.

The body of Mohd Farid Adenan was found floating in the Marudi River at 8am Thursday.

On Tuesday, at around 4pm, Mohd Farid had fallen into the river while fishing at the jetty of SK Dato Sharif Hamid.

The Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department said today that riverine villagers spotted the body at 8am and alerted the Bomba search and rescue teams that have been searching for Mohd Farid.

The case has been handed over to the police for investigations.
