Three die in collision along Pan-Borneo Highway

MIRI: Three women died in a fatal collision between their sports utility vehicle (SUV) and a lorry along the Bintulu-Miri stretch of the Pan-Borneo Highway.

The tragedy happened about 200km south of Miri at 2pm Wednesday (May 29).

Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department said the three victims, all women, were among the 10 people in the SUV.

"There were 10 people in the SUV – eight adults and two children.

"The three died on the spot. Four other passengers are critically injured and three in serious condition," it said in its latest updates.

Those injured were rushed to the Bintulu Hospital.

No details, including the identities of the victims or how the collision took place were given.

The case has been handed over to the police for further investigation.
