Clerk loses RM534,000 to Macau Scam

TANAH MERAH: A female clerk was cheated of RM534,000 by the Macau Scam syndicate after she got a phone call that claimed she owed the Inland Revenue Board (IRB) in tax arrears.

A female caller contacted the 40-year-old clerk last month, claiming that she owed the IRB about RM24,000 in tax arrears, said Kelantan Commercial Crime Investigation Division chief Supt Ahmad Azizul Mohamed.
