KUALA LUMPUR: Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad has called on all Muslims to appreciate together the revelation of Islam’s holy book, the Al-Quran.

The Prime Minister, via his Twitter account in conjunction with Nuzul al-Quran, which is celebrated today, invited Muslims to follow the examples of the events leading to the revelation of the Al-Quran.

“Wishing all Muslims a joyous Nuzul Quran celebration. Hope we can all appreciate and learn from the Nuzul Quran events and receive His blessings,” he said.

Nuzul al-Quran refers to the event on the revelation of the first verse of the al-Quran to the Prophet Muhammad on Friday night, 17 Ramadan, at Hira Cave (near Mecca, Saudi Arabia) on the 41st birthday of the Prophet. — Bernama
