JOHOR BARU: Johor Ruler Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar has slammed a Pakatan Harapan MP here for allegedly making a political speech at a mosque in Labis.

His Majesty said he had received complaints about Labis MP Pang Hok Liong for giving a speech at the Tenang Stesyen Mosque on May 10, causing discomfort among the public.

"The action of the Labis MP has brought about discomfort and deep disappointment among Muslims in the area as well as those in the state.

"It is also a serious violation of the sanctity of the mosque as well as a challenge to the role of Islam as the official religion of the state," he said in his decree posted on the Johor Royal website Thursday (May 16).

He added that the alleged action was unethical and rude with certain parties having a particular interest in mind, and this cannot be tolerated.
