Government and corporate bonds with a total value of $17 billion at the end of 2018 would be affected, according to a Reuters calculation based on fund data. These are issued by Chile ($362 million), the Czech Republic ($50 million), Hungary ($63 million), Israel ($117 million), Malaysia ($1.9 billion), Mexico ($5.7 billion), Poland ($1.05 billion), Russia ($1.2 billion), South Korea ($6.3 billion) and Thailand ($241 million), the ministry said in a statement listing the countries, with the amounts taken from fund data.

SEREMBAN: The Negri Sembilan state government on Wednesday (May 15) gave out a special payment to 3,481 state employees in conjunction with Hari Raya, says Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun.

He said the payout cost his administration some RM5.3mil.

Each employee received half a month's salary or a minimum of RM1,000.

When tabling the state budget last December, Aminuddin had announced a month's salary or a minimum of RM2,000 in special payments for the state's public sector employees.

Half the amount was paid out in the first week of January when the new school term opened.

Separately, Aminuddin said his administration would also be giving out a one-off payment of RM200 each to 984 single mothers under the Care For You (C4U) programme on May 20.

The single mothers eligible for the special payment must be registered under the eKasih registry.

He said the state government had set aside RM900,000 for the purpose under the 2019 budget.

Another 1,531 recipients would get the payment in August.

Aminuddin said his administration has identified some 4,500 single mothers registered with e-Kasih who were entitled to the aid.
