KUALA LUMPUR: A 42-year-old man suspected of possessing drugs jumped from the second floor of a building in Lorong Haji Taib 1 to avoid being arrested by the police.

The man jumped out of a window at about 10.15am yesterday, said Dang Wangi police chief Asst Comm Mohd Fahmi Visuvanathan Abdullah.

“Police officers then called for an ambulance as the suspect was suffering from back and leg injuries.

“He was then taken to Hospital Kuala Lumpur,” he said in a statement.

Doctors attending to him found drugs, which are believed to be heroin and methamphetamine, in two plastic packages hidden in his rectum, ACP Fahmi added. — Bernama
