PMO rubbishes claims govt gave Zakir Naik land, slot on national broadcaster

PUTRAJAYA (Bernama): The Prime Minister's Office (PMO) has denied claims that the Malaysian government rewarded preacher Dr Zakir Naik (pic) with land for Dr Naik's Peace TV channel and a "slot on Malaysia's national broadcaster".

In a statement on Tuesday (May 7), the PMO said that the allegations made in a report by an India-based television channel, circulated through various social media outlets, were baseless.

"We would like to clarify that these allegations are baseless," PMO said. - Bernama
