KLANG: Repair works on all the three main pipes that burst near the Banting-Taiping West Coast Expressway (WCE) construction project are expected to be completed by 8pm on Monday (May 6).
Syarikat Bekalan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Syabas) said repair works for the burst pipes were taking a little longer than expected due to extensive damage on the 1,400mm, 900mm, and 600mm main pipelines.
Sixty-five areas within the Klang region are affected by the unscheduled water supply disruption which began on Sunday (May 5).
Syabas has been updating consumers with pictures and videos of the work-in-progress, as well as answering queries posted on their Facebook page.
Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd Customer Relationship and Communication Department head Abdul Raof Ahmad said relief water supply via water tankers was still being mobilised to affected areas.
He added that service centres and public taps are still activated to assist affected customers until the water supply is fully restored.
“We apologise for the inconvenience caused and will expedite repair works and water supply restoration to all affected customers,” he said.
The local service centres are at Masjid As-Saadah, Lingkaran Sultan Abdul Samad 2, Bandar Sultan Suleiman while public taps are available at Masjid Ar Rahimah Sri Andalas (in front of Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital, Klang), Jalan Persiaran Selangor, Section 16, and Persiaran Astana, Bandar Bukit Raja (near Kolam Bandar Bukit Raja).
