KOTA KINABALU: A family in Penampang near here are pleading for their son to return home after he went missing Sunday (May 5) evening.

Christian Kavin, 14, was last seen playing football outside his house at about 6pm Sunday.

The family have sent out messages and even posted on social media about his disappearance, and are asking for Christian to return home.

It has not been determined whether he left on his own free will, but there were alleged sightings of the boy at the Inanam Bus Terminal at about 9am on Monday (May 7).

According to some of his relatives, they fear that he might have left home quietly to follow some friends to go out of the district.

Penampang police chief Deputy Supt Mohd Haris Ibrahim said they have yet to receive reports of the missing boy but would be monitoring the case.

He also urged the family to come forward and file a missing person report.
