Police arrest eight people over attack at entertainment outlet

PETALING JAYA: Eight more people have been arrested in connection with an incident where a group of men damaged an entertainment outlet in Jalan Klang Lama.

Kuala Lumpur CID chief Senior Asst Comm Rusdi Mohd Isa said that these men were detained following the initial arrest of a 26-year-old man on Saturday (May 4).

"This brings the total arrests so far to nine. We are still investigating the incident," he said when contacted on Sunday (May 5).

It is learnt that a group of men armed with sticks went to the club at about 9.20pm on Friday (May 3) and damaged equipment and furniture.

However, no one was harmed during the attack.

The case is being investigated under Section 427 of the Penal Code for damaging public property in the process of committing mischief and rioting under Section 148 of the same Code.
