PENDANG: Kedah police seized 190 units of Valve Regulated Lead Acid Batteries, stolen from telecommunication towers at various locations in the state, and arrested eight suspects at the end of April.
Kedah police chief Commissioner Datuk Zainuddin Yaacob said Pendang police received the first report of battery theft from a telecommunications provider on April 11, followed by a series of reports from the telco over similar thefts from towers scattered at various locations in the Pendang and Kubang Pasu districts.
