IPOH: One person died and six others sustained injuries when their express bus, said to be travelling at high speed, crashed into a lorry at KM231.5 of the North-South Expressway near Kuala Kangsar on Tuesday (April 30).
Kuala Kangsar OCPD ACP Razali Ibrahim said the bus driver was killed on the spot in the 4.05am incident, while six other passengers in the bus suffered injuries.
He said the injured had been sent to the Taiping Hospital for treatment.
ACP Razali said the incident occurred when the lorry heading north changed lanes from the left to the right because another vehicle had stopped by the side of the expressway.
"When the lorry managed to get into the right lane, the express bus which was speeding crashed into the lorry.
"Due to the impact, the bus driver died on the spot, while six of the passengers sustained injuries," he added.
