KUALA LUMPUR: A 44-year-old married man who recorded himself masturbating after befriending a “Filipina” on social media is being blackmailed.

The administrative clerk, who only wanted to be known as Wong, said he got to know the woman who introduced herself as Jia Inarisi on Facebook last month.

“She invited me to chat with her online and be her friend as she was lonely.

“During our second conversation, she took off her clothes and told me she wanted to see me naked too in the video call.

“She then requested me to masturbate and I did,” Wong said during a press conference by MCA Public Services and Complaints Department head Datuk Seri Michael Chong.

The woman later told Wong that their conversation was recorded and sent him the video clip of him pleasuring himself.

She threatened to upload the video on YouTube and send it to all his Facebook friends if he did not pay her.

Wong said he panicked and caved in to her demands.

“At first, it was RM500. Now, she is demanding RM1,000,” he said, adding that he was extremely stressed over the matter and was even feeling suicidal.

His wife is not aware of the trouble he is in.

“I regretted my action but I should face (the consequences),” he said.

Wong said he had paid RM3,200 via six transactions to the woman through several accounts of Filipinos via Western Union, between March 22 and April 21.

After confiding in a friend, he decided to seek help from Chong and later lodged a police report.

Chong said such blackmailing cases were common in the country.

“He should not continue paying the woman. This will never end. Let the police investigate,” he said.

Chong revealed that as of April this year, there had been five cases reported to him involving RM99,305.
