ACTOR and comedian Mazlan Ahmad (pic), better known as Lan Pet Pet, plans to take the security guard he assaulted on an umrah as an act of repentance, Berita Harian reported.
Lan regretted assaulting Yahya Manap, 68, early this month and said he would take along Yahya’s wife to perform the “mini haj”.
“In the beginning, I knew Pak Ya was angry with me. But after seeing me apologising to him profusely, he forgave me.
“Pak Ya’s advice to not repeat the act will also be a guide in my life,” he said, adding that he was also relieved to get the chance to apologise to Yahya face-to-face.
“I will remember his advice forever. I will not repeat the mistake,” he said.
Lan was fined RM2,000, in default eight months’ jail, by a Seremban magistrate’s court after he pleaded guilty to a charge of voluntarily causing hurt by punching Yahya’s face on April 6 at Acacia Park Desa Jati, Nilai.
He paid the fine.
> Radio announcer Fizi Ali has pleaded with Malaysians on social media to stop criticising his actress-wife Shakila Khoriri over her struggle to breastfeed their newly born child, Harian Metro reported.
Fizi said Shakila shared her thoughts and ideas on breastfeeding on Instagram to exchange thoughts with her followers.
“Some offered suggestions but others also blame my wife’s situation on her past.
“They keep direct messaging her, saying that she can’t breastfeed well enough due to her past personality.
“Some even blame it on her spending too much time on social media,” he said.
Fizi said he tried to remain positive as Shakila was too stressed over what people said about her online.
He added that social media commenters should give words of encouragement to those who were depressed and not criticise them instead.
