KUALA LUMPUR: The Orang Asli Development Department (JAKOA) will review the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed with the Rubber Industry Smallholders Development Authority (Risda) following the latter’s failure to pay a monthly dividend to the orang asli community.
Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Unity) P. Waytha Moorthy said that the issue must be addressed in order to protect the rights of the orang asli from being abused, as the group’s rights are protected under the Orang Asli Act 1954 (Act 134).
