IPOH: All 10 Perak executive councillors have thrown their support behind state Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu (pic).
Exco member Asmuni Awi said the 10 of them, as well as all Pakatan Harapan assemblymen, stood firm behind Ahmad Faizal.
The press conference, led by Asmuni on the sidelines of the state assembly sitting, was to put to rest any controversy over an audio recording criticising the leadership of Ahmad Faizal.
"On rumours stating there is no support for the MB, I will like to emphasise that this is merely 'divide and conquer' propaganda as well as jealousy towards the Perak Pakatan leadership," he said.
Also present at the press conference were the exco members and a few Pakatan assemblymen.
The audio clip, which had gone viral, is of an unidentified man complaining about Ahmad Faizal's administration of the state.
In the four-minute and 22-second audio clip, the man says that Ahmad Faizal "is always late for meetings, has a tendency to skip programmes involving Tuanku (Perak's Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah) and decisions are not made during exco meetings".
The individual also claims other exco members have told him that they want Ahmad Faizal to be replaced.
Asmuni said the issue had in fact unified and enhanced their relationship as a family for the betterment of Perakians.
"To answer to all doubts, we declare our undivided support towards his leadership of the state Pakatan and as the Mentri Besar.
"It is not only the exco members who have this view but all the Pakatan assemblymen as well.
"Thus, we promise the people of Perak to put the people's agenda as a priority, ensure an increase in the economy, as well as to take care of the welfare of the people," he added.
