JOHOR BARU: PKR leaders need to give space for Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamed to push forward efforts towards the reformation agenda, says Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
The Port Dickson MP conceded that it was not easy for him to put the past behind him, but added that he has been able to find it in his heart to forgive and the focus now should be on serving the people.
"We have had an understanding with Dr Mahathir to bring the reformasi agenda forward.
"It does not matter whether the Prime Minister is Dr Mahathir or me, what is important is that we fulfil our promises to the people and continue striving for the reformation agenda," he said.
He said this in his speech during a dialogue dubbed "Town Hall Anak Muda" in a hotel in Johor Baru here Saturday (April 20).
He also hopes that PKR leaders in Johor would give their fullest support to the newly-minted Mentri Besar Dr Sahruddin Jamal.
"I would like to congratulate Dr Sahruddin for his appointment as the Mentri Besar and I hope that the Johor leadership will support him in bringing the state forward, especially in programmes that would improve the economy for the public," he said.
