SERDANG: Almost 50kg of ganja worth RM150,000 were seized following the arrest of a woman in Seri Kembangan.

The 27-year-old suspect, who was driving a Toyota Vios, was stopped by police at Lestari Perdana 3 in Seri Kembangan at about 6pm on Tuesday following a tip-off.

Serdang OCPD Asst Comm Ismadi Borhan said upon inspection, police discovered three sacks containing 50 blocks of ganja with a street value of RM150,000.

“The woman also tested positive for methamphetamine. She has been remanded until next Tuesday,” he told a press conference yesterday.

Initial investigations revealed that the drugs were sourced from Kelantan.

“We believe the drugs are meant for the Klang Valley market,” he said.

ACP Ismadi said the police were grateful to members of the public who had supplied the information that led to the arrest.

“We hope more people will come forward and assist us in the future. The war on drugs can only be won through cooperation between the police and the public,” he said.

“The cooperation between police and public is vital. As per the slogan for this year’s Police Day – Police and Society are Inseparable,” he said.
