KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad has defended the government’s move to give out RM6.2bil in aid to the Federal Land Development Authority (Felda) following a negative credit rating by Moody’s.

“The rating agency says giving RM6bil to rescue (Felda) is wrong and they may downgrade Malaysia but when Malaysia had RM1trillion in debt, there was no talk of this downgrading," said Dr Mahathir.
