PETALING JAYA: Tonnes of rice was spilled on the New Klang Valley Expressway (NKVE) when a trailer lorry transporting rice and mee hoon crashed on Tuesday (April 16).

The 10am incident, on KM14.1 near the Kelana Jaya exit, caused a massive traffic jam for several hours as two of the three lanes were blocked by heaps of rice bags and noodle packs.

Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Zani Che Din said the spilled rice and mee hoon packets were being cleared form the highway.

"The spilled rice and mee hoon are being moved to the side in order to clear up the lanes for traffic to flow more smoothly.

"Traffic policemen are also stationed to help keep the traffic moving," he said when contacted on Tuesday.
