KUANTAN (Bernama): A four-year-old boy will never forget the day firemen came charging down the street in a fire truck to rescue him when his finger got stuck in a gumball machine.
Early Friday (April 12), the boy had gone to the machine at a sundry shop in Taman Bahagia Baru, Temerloh near here to get a gumball.
However, it did not come out and the determined boy put his finger into the machine to get it.
That was when his third finger got stuck, and the Fire and Rescue Department had to be called for help.
According to Pahang Fire and Rescue Department deputy director Mohd Sani Harul, the victim's finger was believed to have been stuck in the machine after he tried to get the gumball.
“The firemen used a screwdriver and a special knife to pry open the screen of the machine and they had to take out all the gumballs before they could free the victim's finger,” he said when contacted here.
Meanwhile, operations officer Zulramli Hamzah said the firemen spent 10 minutes to release the victim's finger from the machine as they had to calm down the crying boy.
He said the finger was only bruised and the boy was given treatment by the Emergency Medical Rescue Service (EMRS) at the location. - Bernama
