JOHOR BARU: Datuk Osman Sapian will explain his reasons for resigning as the Johor Mentri Besar on Saturday.
Speaking to Bernama, Osman said the explanation would be made after he has an audience with the Sultan of Johor, Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar.
However, he did not explain how the clarification would be made, whether through a media conference or press statement.
“Insya Allah (God willing), on April 13th (I will make a clarification) after having an audience with the Ruler,” he said via WhatsApp.
Osman, 67, was asked to clarify whether the decision to resign was made in the interest of the current Johor Pakatan Harapan government.
It is learnt that Parti Amanah Negara has submitted two names as mentri besar candidates while DAP and PKR have each nominated one assemblyman.
The four are Education and Islamic Affairs Committee chairman Aminolhuda Hassan, who is also Johor Amanah chairman; Senggarang assemblyman Khairuddin A. Rahim; PKR’s Mohd Khuzzan Abu Bakar, who is Youth, Sports and Culture Committee chairman; and Information, Cooperatives, Entrepreneurship Development and Creative Economy Committee chairman Sheikh Umar Bagharib Ali from DAP.
