Expensive meranti timber worth RM1.4mil seized, two arrested

SIBU: Expensive meranti timber logs and machineries valued at RM1.4mil have been seized by the 10th Battalion General Operation Force (GOF) in a surprise operation on a log pond in Sungai Uka, Poi in Kanowit.

Deputy commanding officer, DSP Frediel Nyambong, said on Wednesday (April 10) that two persons, a 50-year-old local man and a 39-year-old Indonesian, were arrested for being in possession of the items.
