PETALING JAYA: Ratifying the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court (ICC) will not diminish Malaysia's sovereignty or affect the respected status of the country's rulers, including the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, the United Nations Association of Malaysia (Unam) said.

President Tengku Ahmad Rithauddeen Tengku Ismail said giving in to the idea that the country's sovereignty is being threatened would suggest that Malaysians have allowed mischief to triumph over truth.
