SEREMBAN: PKR's Dr S. Streram (pic) says he has no issue with any investigation into his alleged involvement in an event where food coupons worth RM75,000 were given out to pupils in five schools in Rantau.
The Pakatan Harapan candidate for the Rantau state seat maintained that he had nothing to do with the matter as the coupons were given away by Miri MP Michael Teo.
"I just happened to be there. I did not pay for the coupons," he said when met during a walkabout in Rantau.
Independent R. Malarvizhi had earlier said that she would lodge a police report on the matter on Thursday (April 4) and would also be filing a complaint with the Election Commission.
"She is free to lodge a report.
"This is a democratic country and that is her right," he said.
Two days before nomination day on March 28, Dr Streram accompanied the Miri MP to the schools.
Dr Streram had previously said it was not an offence to do so as the coupons were given to children who were not voters.
