LANGKAWI: The increase in value of the memorandums of understanding (MoUs) and contracts signed at LIMA’19 is proof of higher investors’ confidence in Malaysia.
Defence Minister Mohamad Sabu said the event, which started on Tuesday and ends today, showed an increase of RM200mil to RM4bil worth of MoUs and contracts signed compared to RM3.8bil in its 2017 edition.
“This increase will spur economic growth in the country and it occurred in the early part of Pakatan Harapan’s rule,” he said at a news conference yesterday.
Mohamad said the event attracted 42,030 trade visitors from 63 countries and involved 406 exhibitors comprising local and international companies. — Bernama
