KUALA LUMPUR: Poor sanitation and complaints of traffic congestion have been cited as among the reasons for the relocation of the popular "bazaar rakyat" at Lorong Tuanku Abdul Rahman, the Dewan Rakyat was told.

Deputy Federal Territories Minister Datuk Shahruddin Md Salleh said the ministry did not shut down any business activities at the bazaar, which is popular during festive seasons such as Ramadan and Deepavali celebrations, but had relocated it to Jalan Raja, opposite Bangunan Sultan Abdul Samad.
