BUKIT MERTAJAM: A service centre in Bukit Mertajam was vandalised and police are identifying suspects behind the incident.
Earlier on Monday (March 25), an officer at Padang Lalang assemblyman Chong Eng’s service centre lodged a police report after seeing rude wordings written with white paint on Chong Eng’s poster at the gate.
Chong Eng is also the state Women and Family Development and Gender Inclusiveness Committee chairman.
Central Seberang Prai Tengah OCPD Asst Comm Nik Ros Azhan Nik Abdul Hamid said the report was made to ensure the safety of Chong Eng and her staff.
“The complainer said no suspect was identified in this case.
“There was also no CCTV at the scene, whereas the CCTV nearby was not functioning well,” he said.
ACP Nik Ros Azhan added that there were no witnesses when the incident happened.
The incident is currently under investigation.
