IPOH: If there is going to be a change in the Perak state executive council line-up, this should be discussed internally, says PKR’s Abdul Yunus Jamhari.
The state Public Utilities, Infrastructure, Agriculture and Plantation Committee chairman said that such relevant matters should be discussed properly.
The Kuala Kurau assemblyman, who was formerly the state party's secretary, also said he had yet to meet with state party chairman Farhash Wafa Salvador Rizal Mubarak over the matter.
“I have been with PKR for about 20 years and was a three-term assemblyman.
“Whatever the issue, it should be discussed in the proper way,” he told reporters after launching the state-level World Water Day forum at the state secretariat building banquet hall here on Friday (March 22).
“As the government of the day, we must work together hand in hand like a big family.
“That is how we gain the public trust to continue running the state,” he added.
It has been reported that the state PKR wants to replace one state exco member from the party, and the speculation has been that Abdul Yunus was the one.
Farhash Wafa Salvador was reported to have said that the matter has been made known to party president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
There are currently two representatives from the party in the exco line-up, with the other being Simpang Pulai assemblyman Tan Kar Hing, who is the Tourism, Arts and Culture Committee chairman.
On the reported attempt to replace him, Abdul Yunus declined to comment about it.
“I have nothing more to add on this matter,” he said.
