Perak govt to continue pushing for forest replanting project

Perak Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu has deny the site to be part of the forest reserve and said it is under the secondary forest instead. Conservation group Kumpulan Aktivis Sahabat Alam (Kuasa) said primary and secondary (production forest) fall under the Forest Reserve category. Upon visiting the 400ha area, Kuasa has identified several types of plan namely Meranti, Balau, Keruing, Merbau and Cengal trees scattered at the forest.

IPOH: The Perak government will continue to push for the 400ha forest replanting project despite the land-clearing issue that has come under the spotlight over the past few days.

According to a source, the state has already approved a permit for the replanting efforts at forest reserves in Kledang Saiong near Batu Gajah, Bukit Kinta in Gopeng and Piah near Gerik,.
