Malaysia and Singapore suspends new port limits


PUTRAJAYA: Malaysia and Singapore have reached an agreement to suspend the implementation of their new port limits off Tanjung Piai and Tuas.

This decision was made, following a bilateral meeting between Foreign Minister Datuk Saifuddin Abdullah and his Singaporean counterpart Dr Vivan Balakrishnan at Wisma Putra here.

The two countries have also agreed to suspend all commercial activities and to not anchor government vessels in the area.

The decision takes effect on Thursday (March 14).
