SJK(T) Menglembu, which has not been able to complete building additional classrooms due to a lack of funding, has received a boost from the government, Makkal Osai reported.

The school in Perak with about 350 pupils initially received RM35mil in 2014 for a new building but the money ran out six months ago.

Following a visit by Deputy Education Minister Teo Nie Ching in January, a further RM1.3mil in allocation was approved.

Batu Gajah MP V. Sivakumar and Sungkai assemblyman A. Sivanesan visited the school last Friday and donated RM20,000 and RM50,000 respectively.

> A priest conducting a temple festival in Tamil Nadu, India, shocked bystanders when he held a one-year-old baby in a standing position on a billhook knife, Makkal Osai reported.

The priest was blessing devotees while walking on 21 similar knives when someone handed him the infant for blessing.

He held the baby on one of the knives while blessing him.

He then continued his ceremony by showering in 70kg of chili powder.
