KUCHING: In conjunction with International Women's Day on Friday (March 8), the Sarawak Women for Women Society (SWWS) is calling on the government to take key steps to empower women towards equality.
These include passing a Gender Equality Act in line with Malaysia's obligations under the United Nations Convention for the Elimination of Discrimination Against Women (Cedaw), enacting new legislation against sexual harassment and ending child marriage.
