SIBU: A soldier has been sentenced to two years' jail by a Sessions Court here after pleading guilty to printing RM4,000 in counterfeit notes to fund his wedding.
The accused - Korporal Abdul Shahmi Syafiq Abdul Rahman of Tanjung Manis - was charged under Section 489C of the Penal Code for having the counterfeit notes in his possession, and could have faced a maximum sentence of 10 years for the offence.
