TAWAU: The Sabah Wildlife Department (SWD) has been urged to expedite the capture of two crocodiles spotted in a monsoon drain along Jalan Sin On here.

Bunga Raya's Chinese community leader Chung Siang Ying said this in response to a complaint he received from a resident in the area.

"It is understandable that residents would complain as they are concerned about their safety.

"Crocodiles are dangerous and territorial in nature," he said in a statement on Wednesday (Feb 20).

Meanwhile, SWD officers in Tawau said they would be setting up a trap in the drain where the crocodiles were spotted.

They urged residents in the area to provide them with the latest updates to ensure that the animals could be captured immediately.
