PETALING JAYA Three men were arrested for attaching a card scanner to an ATM at Jalan Changkat Bukit Bintang, Kuala Lumpur.
In the 9.30pm incident on Sunday (Feb 17), police were alerted after members of the public noticed the suspicious device on an ATM at a 24-hour convenience store.
Dang Wangi OCPD Asst Comm Shaharuddin Abdullah said a team of policemen was sent to inspect the device.
“One of the objects was a skimmer placed over the card slot, and the other was a video recorder placed over the keypad,” he said in a statement Tuesday (Feb 19).
Following that, police detained the three men, aged 30, 33 and 48, who were lingering outside the store.
