MCA Youth chief questions aide’s threat against RTM

PETALING JAYA: MCA Youth chief Nicole Wong has questioned an aide to a minister for threatening to file a complaint against RTM over the national-level Chinese New Year open house live telecast in Seremban 2.

Lim Swee Kuan, the press secretary to the Transport Minister, Anthony Loke, had alleged that it was sabotage against the government administration because his boss’ speech was not aired.

“As far as I am concerned, the media has its own standard operating procedure and freedom to air,” Wong tweeted.

“They are preaching freedom of the press, yet we have a press secretary threatening to lodge a complaint to (Communications and Multimedia Minister) Gobind Singh Deo.

“Someone, please correct me,” she added.

In another tweet, Wong also questioned the need to threaten the media over the fact that it did not air speeches of certain political leaders.

Wong also asked for feedback from the press.
