LISTENERS of Minnal FM Tamil radio station have thanked Communications and Multimedia Minister Gobind Singh Deo and his assistant for the partial restoration of the channel’s hourly new broadcast, Makkal Osai reported.
The channel used to broadcast news reports every hour around the clock. But the 12am to 6am news broadcast was stopped in 2016.
Beginning this month, most of the remaining news broadcast was also scrapped, leaving only two slots at 7pm and 11pm.
Following reports by the daily of complaints among the listeners and the community over the cancellation, Gobind’s assistant and senator R. Suresh Singh vowed to look into it.
Following a review, the news broadcast was resumed at two-hour intervals between 6am and noon.
