PETALING JAYA: A Johor DAP committee member has urged those against Pakatan Harapan’s pre-14th General Election promises to quit, singling out Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia members.
“Bersatu’s top leaders have broken promises more than once and too often,” said Dr Boo Cheng Hau (pic).
“The government of the day has to listen to the people and maintain two-way communication because at the end of the (day), the people are their bosses.
“Those who issue statements against Pakatan election promises should step down from their positions,” he said.
Dr Boo also urged Pakatan leaders not to equate individuals' own positions and GLC (government-linked company) appointments as “political reforms” without the actual institutional reforms.
“After all, keeping promises made to the people is what really counts.
“Many perceive the change of guard in government and GLC positions as ‘political reform’.
“Most of those who hold official positions break their election promises,” he said in a statement Monday (Feb 18).
Dr Boo also urged civil society to ensure that all political parties fulfilled their promises.
