Pork seller slashed after argument at Sandakan market

KOTA KINABALU: A pork seller sustained slash wounds after he was attacked by a man following an argument on Sunday (Feb 17) morning at a market in Sandakan.

In the 9.15am incident, it is believed that the two men had gotten into a fight before the 49-year-old suspect started attacking the victim with a butcher's knife.

Sandakan police chief Asst Comm Mohd Azhar Hamin said they received a call about the incident around 9.30am. 

"We found the victim with slash wounds on his hand, head and body," he said in a statement.

He said the suspect was nabbed at the scene.

ACP Mohd Azhar said the suspect will be investigated for causing hurt.

The victim is reported to be in stable condition and is recuperating at the hospital.
