KLUANG: Police have arrested five drug pushers, including a woman, and seized drugs worth more than RM35,000, the biggest haul in the district so far this year.

Kluang OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Abduh Ismail said that five suspects, between the ages of 30 and 56 years, were arrested in a series on raids around here on Tuesday (Feb 12).

“The first raid was at Taman Anggerik, where we confiscated 935.9g of ganja worth RM3,800, followed by a second raid at Kluang town, where we confiscated 1.2kg heroin valued at RM30,925.

“The third raid was at Taman Sri Impian, where we seized 93.7g heroin worth RM2,344,” he said in a statement here on Wednesday (Feb 13).

ACP Mohd Abduh added that the suspects also tested positive for various drugs, including THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) and morphine.

Police also seized two cars from the suspects worth RM32,300, and RM500 in cash.

“The total value of the seized items is about RM70,000, making it the largest drug bust in the district,” he said, adding that the suspects were currently under remand until Feb 18.

ACP Mohd Abduh said the case was being investigated under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 for drug possession, which carries the mandatory death sentence upon conviction.
