KUALA LUMPUR: Seven mat rempit have been nabbed for dangerous riding along the DUKE Highway.
City Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department chief Asst Comm Zulkefly Yahya said the arrests were made following two operations on Saturday night and early Sunday morning.
“We held a motorcycle operation along Jalan Pahang and Jalan Raja Laut between 11pm and 1am.
“During the operation, we issued 414 summonses to motorcyclists for various offences, including not having valid driver licences.”
The operation along the DUKE Highway was held between 1.30am and 4am.
“We arrested seven people aged between 17 and 27, believed to be mat rempit,” adding that the youngest among them was a secondary school student.
