SEMENYIH: The residents in Bandar Rinching and Taman Tasik Kesuma can look forward to a new 4ha primary school in 2020.
Education Minister Dr Maszlee Malik (pic) said the project had been approved by the government last October.
“The successful (approval) of this project is due to the long struggle of the Taman Pelangi Residents Association that began in 2012 and that had only been achieved after the Pakatan Harapan government took over and approved the construction of the school,” he told reporters after a site inspection on Monday (Feb 11).
“We do not want anymore abandoned or delayed projects,” he said, adding that this school was one of the delayed projects from the previous government.
However, Dr Maszlee stressed that the approval of the project has nothing to do with the upcoming Semenyih by-election as the project started on Oct 22, 2018, and is expected to be completed in two years.
He also said that the RM20.7mil for the construction of SK Taman Pelangi is part of the RM67.58mil that has been approved for the development of education in Selangor, under the 11th Malaysia Plan (Rolling Plan 4).
