KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal says he met with Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad to reiterate his stand on not wanting Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) in Sabah.

"I met and told him that the best thing is to uphold the promise made before GE14 and what has been discussed before," he said.

Shafie said Parti Warisan Sabah and Bersatu were like "siblings" and able to work together.

"Warisan in Sabah is a multi-racial party and we take care of all races here, whereas Bersatu is a single-race party.

"We need to stick with the arrangement discussed before. What we need to focus on are the needs of Sabah itself," said the Warisan president during a Chinese New Year function in Sembulan near here on Sunday (Feb 10).

Dr Mahathir had said recently that he had yet to decide if Bersatu should its wings to Sabah.
