PETALING JAYA: The academic credentials of Housing and Local Government minister Zuraida Kamaruddin (pic) are the latest to be questioned after a Twitter user claimed he could not find her name on the National University of Singapore’s online degree verification portal.
Don Juan deRyezal posed the question on Twitter, asking whether her name had been mistakenly left out.
“Assalamualaikum YBM @zuraida_my. Kami gagal menemui carian nama YBM di National University of Singapore. Mungkin tercicir agaknya? (We were unable to find your name in the NUS. Could it have been left out?)” he wrote.
The tweet included a Bernama infographic stating that she had obtained a social science degree from NUS, as well as the university’s online degree verification portal, which yielded no results during a search for the PKR vice-president’s name.
A check by The Star on that portal yielded the same result.
Zuraida could not be contacted for comment.
A source close to the minister explained that she was away for umrah.
“We will issue a statement on this matter soon,” he added.
