TAIPING (Bernama): Pakatan Harapan leaders must uphold integrity, be honest and not lie to the people, says Perak Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu.
He said integrity was crucial for Pakatan government leaders in carrying out their work.
“I myself have disclosed about having studied abroad but not succeeding in bringing home a degree.
“I have never lied about my history, where I had furthered my education but did not get a degree, which was played up in social media at one point in the past.
“What is more important is that we work sincerely, and the issue of integrity and not lying to the people is very important,” he told a press conference after launching the Community and Environment Sustainable Programme at Kampung Dew here on Sunday (Feb 10).
He said this when asked to comment on the issue of integrity among Pakatan leaders who had been implicated as having unrecognised certificates.
Asked about the Semenyih polls in March, Ahmad Faizal said the by-election would be very stiff.
“It would be a very big loss if Semenyih voters chose another candidate other than from Pakatan. However, we will work hard to defend the area,” he said. – Bernama
