More flood-hit evacuees in Sarawak's Machan area

SIBU: The number of flood victims being evacuated from the Machan area, an hour's drive from here, has increased from 22 people from 11 families to 25 people from 14 families.

The state Fire and Rescue Department, in its latest update at 8pm on Friday (Feb 8), said with the water continuing to rise after receding at noon, more residents of two longhouses had to be housed at the flood evacuation centre at the Kanowit District Council hall.
